Cryogenic Lesion Ablation System for Adagio

iCLAS

The iCLAS System by Adagio Medical provides electrophysiologists with a new tool to treat cardiac arrhythmias, including paroxysmal, persistent atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Instead of using heat for ablating transmural lesions, the catheter delivers ultra-low temperature, Near Critical Nitrogen (NCN) to the sight of treatment within the beating heart without restricting blood flow. The technology produces a continuous and uninterrupted flow of the cryogen through a small diameter catheter in a gas-like state. NCN provides the same powerful energy source as liquid nitrogen while solving the issue of volume expansion, from liquid to gas, that has prevented its use in such an application. Morphix consulted with Adagio on the ID of the catheter handpieces, connectors and system console.
